Palu, MINA – The Medical and humanitarian institution Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) on Thursday (4/10) was trusted to be the interim coordinator of the operational activities of Sis Al-Jufri General Hospital in Palu after the earthquake and tsunami that hit several regions in Central Sulawesi Province, last week.
The Chair of field coordinator MER-C for the Palu mission, Andi Fajar Wela revealed that MER-C will work together with doctor team from Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) Jakarta to operate the hospital.
MINA reporters said Sis Al-Jufri Hospital is the only one of the Islamic hospital in the city of Palu. The Institute is under the Al-Khairat Islamic Foundation.
“At this moment, the hospital is becoming referral hospital for patients who have to be operated because of a broken bone or others,” said Widi Kusnadi MINA.

He added Sis Al-Jufri Hospital is one of Hospital that still has an operating room that can be used in Palu.
MER-C team arrived in Palu from Mamuju, West Sulawesi on Thursday afternoon bringing food and kitchen utensils.
Previously, the first MER-C team have arrived at the location and conducted an assessment in the disaster area. (TL /Sj/R04)
