Zeeshan Ali Khan, son of a middle-class Muslim businessman in Mumbai, received a life shock following his application at an India-based diamond export firm earlier this month, only to learn that they do not recruit Muslims, On Islam quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

“I took a screenshot of the email and posted it on social media. It has gone viral,” Khan recalled, Huffington Post reported,” Khan said.

“The minorities’ commission has sent a notice to the company. I’d only like to say, please don’t discriminate candidates on the basis of religion.”

Playing down criticism, the diamond firm claimed that the biased letter was an “error on the part of one of its staff”.

Along with overwhelming messages of support, the Muslim graduate has received dozens of job offers over the past week.

“I received about a dozen offers following the religious discrimination I had to face. My mail box is flooded with solidarity messages,” said Khan, 22.

“Among all the offers I got, this was the best.”
