Jakarta, 03 Jumadil Awwal 1438/31 January2017 (MINA) – Indonesia hailed Morocco’s decision to return to the African Union (AU), Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said Monday in Jakarta.

The return of Morocco to the AU will enable the Kingdom to “recover its natural place,” Marsudi pointed out during talks with Morocco’s ambassador to Indonesia, Ouadie Benabdellah.

The Moroccan diplomat told MAP at the end of the talks that the Indonesian Foreign Minister noted that the African Union cannot be conceived without the presence of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Indonesia and Morocco are aware of the need to strengthen their economic relations in order to boost bilateral cooperation, the Indonesian minister said, adding that the two countries should develop coordination on issues related to the latest developments in the Islamic world, particularly the Palestinian cause.
