Jakarta, MINA – Amid the prolonged suffering of the Palestinian people due to the ongoing aggression, Maemuna Center Indonesia, the Islamic wing of the Aqsa Working Group (AWG), invites all members of society to contribute to the construction of the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital (RSIA) in Gaza City, Palestine.

This hospital will provide new hope for thousands of mothers and children who are currently struggling without adequate medical access.

Onny Firyanti Hamidi, Chairwoman of Maemuna Center Indonesia, emphasized that the construction of the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital in Gaza is a concrete demonstration of concern for the condition of women and children, who are the primary victims of this aggression.

“According to a report from the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in November 2024, about 70% of genocide victims are women and children. Many mothers are forced to give birth without anesthesia, and children are undergoing amputations without painkillers. This is a humanitarian crisis that demands an immediate response,” said Onny Firyanti Hamidi during the press conference held at the Diplomacy Room, DPR RI Building, Jakarta on Friday afternoon.

She added that access to adequate medical services is currently extremely difficult to obtain. Hospitals in Gaza have become targets of attacks, and medical personnel have also become victims.

“We are committed to building the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital in Gaza as a real solution to improve healthcare services for mothers and children in Gaza. This hospital will provide comprehensive healthcare services for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children who need quality medical care post-conflict,” she explained.

In addition, Rifa Berliana Arifin, Presidium of the Aqsa Working Group, stated that the construction of the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital in Gaza is not just a humanitarian project but a significant trust that must be realized together.

She emphasized that the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital in Gaza will bring new hope to women and children most affected by the war.

“With adequate medical facilities, we can save more lives and give them a chance to survive and recover,” Rifa said.

He called on all Indonesian people, humanitarian organizations, and the global community to unite in this noble mission.

“Every prayer, every care, and every donation you make is a tangible proof of solidarity. Let us not let them fight alone. Together, we can build this hospital and become part of the history of the Palestinian struggle,” he concluded.

The press conference was attended by Prof. Sudarnoto Abdulhakim, Chairman of the MUI’s Foreign Relations and International Cooperation Division, Prof. Hj. Amany Lubis, Maemuna Center Indonesia’s supervisor, and M. Anshorullah, Chairman of the AWG Presidium.

Support from the Palestinian Government and Humanitarian Organizations
The construction of the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital has received full support from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, which has donated 5,040 m² of land near Al-Rantisi Children’s Hospital, Gaza City.

This humanitarian project is also part of the Joint Campaign for Humanitarian Aid Fundraising for Gaza, launched by Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the support of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the National Amil Zakat Agency (Baznas), and more than 30 humanitarian organizations in Indonesia.

The development of the Indonesian Mother and Child Hospital in Gaza will involve an experienced team of experts in hospital construction, including Ar. Riza A. Chairil, IAI as the architect, and Ir. Edy Wahyudi, who has served as the site manager of the Indonesian Hospital in North Gaza.

Maemuna Center Indonesia invites all members of society to participate in this hospital construction. Every donation provided saves lives and ignites hope.[]
