Israel Conducts Large-scale Operation in West Bank

West Bank, MINA – Israeli occupation forces launched attacks and arrests throughout the occupied West Bank on Monday morning, July 8.

Ramallah News said Israeli occupation arrested 25 residents, including those accused of Hamas leaders and cadres during the raids carried out in various parts of the West Bank.

Sources said the raids focused in city and camp Jenin, the cities of Kfardan, Burqin, Zbouba. Arresting Hamas leaders and cadres as well as families of detainees, some of them were released shortly.

Israeli occupation forces stormed and searched the house of Hamas leader Khalid al-Haj and arrested him. They also arrested Sheikh Atta al-Sabbagh, Abdel-Jabbar Jarrar, Mohammed Ahmed Soukia, and Nidal Abdel Hadi.

The occupying army also stormed the house and arrested Sheikh Ibrahim al-Jabr in the Jenin refugee camp, including Sheikh Majdi Abu al-Hija, Jumaa Abu Khalifa, and Atta al-Jabali.

Near the city of Burqin, Israeli occupation forces captured ‘Essam Ahmed Khallouf and Mahmoud ‘Abd al-Rahman Qasrawi. They also arrested Maher Tahsin ed Abed and ’Alam Salah. They also arrested Hassan al-Zaghl in the city of Kfardan.

Clashes took place with Israeli occupation forces after the invasion of the city of Qalqiliya, a Palestinian was arrested after ransacking his home.

He pointed out that a boy was injured by rubber bullet in his thigh during the clash that took place there during the raid.

Among those arrested in Bethlehem were Ahmed Khaled al-Amour and Hussein Mohammed al-Amour from the city of Teqoa, southeast of Bethlehem.

They also arrested Hussein Atef Abayat from Bethlehem and prisoner Ahmed Ismail Salah from al-Khader village, south of Bethlehem.

In Hebron, Ahmed Wael Jibril was known to be among the prisoners after breaking into his family’s home in the southern city of Dhahiriya.

In the town of Beit ‘Awwa, southwest of Hebron, Israeli occupation forces captured Ra’fat Talib ‘Ateeleh al-Masalama after he stormed his home and searched it.

In Jerusalem, Israeli occupation forces arrested a number of youth in Issawiya village, including: Muhammad Zakaria ‘Alyan, Majed Halayqa, Ali Muhammad Mustafa, Muhammad Ramzi Muheisen, Walid Ziad Obaid and Ayman Obeid.


Israeli forces also arrested the girl Wael Mahmoud, 20, for pressuring her brother Bara to surrender because he was not found at his house during the raid. (T/Sj/P2)
