TURKEY’S ERDOGAN, HOLLANDE DISCUSS AL-AQSA CLASHES

Ankara, 5 Dlulhijjah 1436/19 September 2015 (MINA) – Turkish presidential sources have said that “concern” was expressed about recent incidents at the Al-Aqsa complex in Jerusalem in a phone call between French leader Francois Holland and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to the Presidency of Turkey, Erdogan made the call to take action over Israeli security forces’ breach of the Muslim holy site which sparked indignation in the Islamic world, Anadolu Agency (AA) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

During Thursday’s phone call, Erdogan stressed the importance of founding of a sovereign Palestinian state with its capital in east Jerusalem on the grounds of Israel retreating to its 1967 borders.

Meanwhile, Hollande expressed concern by France regarding the developments in Jerusalem.

Erdogan and Hollande also talked about the ongoing refugee crisis, agreeing to keep in close contact regarding regional problems. (T/P011/R04)
