MER-C, WANADRI SENDS TEAM TO NEPAL MONDAY
Jakarta, 10 Rajab 1436/29 April 2015 (MINA) – The International humanitarian agencies, Medical Emergency Rescue Commettee (MER-C) collaborated with the Association of Mountaineering (Wanadri) dispatched a pioneering team giving aids to Nepal.
“Insha Allah, on Sunday our first team along with Wanadri go to Nepal. Hopefully this mission will get success,” said Mer-C chairman, dr Joserizal Jurnalis to Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) in MER-C’s headquarters in Jakarta, Wednesday.
The first team consists of ten personnels, They are Soleh Sudrajat (Captain), dr. Ratih Citrahapsari, Adri Purwasnu, Martin Rimbawan, Soma Suparsa, dr Hadiki Habib, Sp. PD, dr Rita Tambunan, dr Namira Lubis, Islamiah Samaun danand Widi Kusnadi (media).
The first target is in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. They will conduct field mapping and search a strategic place for the second team. “We’re going to work effectively so that the second team which consist of doctors could go as soon as possible,” said Martin Rimbawan who had climbed the seven highest mountains in the world.
The first team is also going to prepare pre-medical assistance, mobile clinics and not to mention the evacuation.
According to Soma Suparsa who is also the chairman of Seacrh and Rescue (SAR) West Java, the capital city of Nepal located at 3000-4000 meters above the sea. For the people of Indonesia. It is necessary to have good physical condition.
MER-C is a charitable organization engaged in humanitarian medical emergency with its motto: professional, neutral, independent, voluntary and high mobility. The institute aims to provide medical services to victims of war, violence due to conflict, disaster, and extraordinary events.
This organization was formed in Jakarta, August 14, 1999 by a group of students of the University of Indonesia who initiated medical procedures to assist victims of the conflict in the Molucas island, Eastern Indonesia.
Wanadri is the organization of outdoor activities based in Bandung, Indonesia. Wanadri established in 1964, aims to contribute to educate of young people in the field of natural and jungle resistance.
Nepal earthquake occurred at 11:56 (local time) on Saturday, April 25th, 2015, with the epicenter about 29 km from southeast Lamjung, Nepal. The disaster is the most powerful earthquake that rocked Nepal since Nepal-Bihar earthquake in 1934.(L/P008/R03)
