Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) Decides 1 Dzulhijjah on Wednesday August 23rd

Bogor, MINA – Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) as a forum of the unity of Muslims has declared that the 1st Dzulhijjah will fall on Wednesday 23 August due to the new moon. (crescent) tas been visible on the horizon.

On behalf of the responsibility to the Muslims in performing their worship, we decided that the first day of the month of Dhu al-Hijjah would fall on Wednesday, August 23, as the crescent marking the Islamic Hijri lunar month of Dhul Hijjah was observed.. .

The decision was taken based on the testimony of three people, namely Syamsudin, Sugiyanto and Eko, who have seen the new moon from the third floor of Baitul Muttaqin Mosque in Bekasi.

Thus, the fasting day  of Arafah will take place on Thursday 31 August or 9 Dhul-Hijjah, and Eid al-Adha on 10 Dhu al-Hijjah or the first of September.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs in the Isbat council meeting has also decided this evening as 1 Dzulhijjah 1438 and Eid al-Adha on September 1, 2017.

Rukyat team from Ministry of Religious Affairs who deployed on all parts of Indonesia reported that 10 people saw the new moon with the length of hilal 31 minutes 55 seconds and a height of 7.50 degrees from the horizon.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced that the crescent of Dzulhijjah remained unseen on rukyatul moon, Monday night.

On Monday, the court called on Muslims in the region to see the crescent on Monday, 29 Dzulqa’dah according to the Ummul Qura Calendar.
