Israeli TV, Saudi Prince Turki Says Netanyahu Deceptive Israeli Society
London, MINA – In an unprecedented interview with Israeli TV station broadcast on Wednesday, former Saudi Arabian Chief of Intelligence Prince Turki bin Faisal Al Saud accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of deceiving its citizens.
The former ambassador to the United States and Britain said Netanyahu deceived Israeli by claiming that Israel’s relations with the wider Arab world could be warmed up without resolving the Palestinian problem.
“Israeli public opinion should not be fooled into believing that the Palestinian issue is a matter of death,” Prince Turki told Israel’s Channel 13 news during a lengthy interview in London, the Times of Israel reported, quoted by MINA.
“From the Israeli point of view, Mr. Netanyahu wants us to have a relationship and then we can fix the Palestinian problem. From the Saudi point of view, that’s the opposite. ”
Asked by interviewer Barak Ravid, does that mean Netanyahu “deceived the Israeli” by claiming he could “promote relations with the Arab world apart from Palestine”. Prince Turki replied, “Of course. Right.”
Prince said Netanyahu did it for his own benefit.
He revealed, Saudi society had “very negative views about Mr. Netanyahu because of what happened in the field”. (R/Sj/R04)
