Bogor, 27 Syawwal 1435/23 August 2014 (MINA) – The Indonesian Ulema Council’s Assessment Institute for Foods, Drugs and Cosmetics (LPPOM MUI) will organize an international halal expo to help Indonesia create its own market for products-2/">halal products amid regional free trade.
The fourth International Halal Expo (INDHEX) 2014 is scheduled for Oct. 22-25 in Jakarta, agency director Lukmanul Hakim said as quoted by Antara news agency on Friday.
Indonesia, a potential world halal food hub, would be able to export its products-2/">halal products in the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), which is set to officially kick off next year, through the expo, which is expected to draw “loyal” consumers of products-2/">halal products, according to Lukmanul Hakim, according to the Jakarta Post report quoted by MINA.
The AEC will allow wider access for products and services and their flow within the Southeast Asian region.
