Ramallah, MINA – The crisis over the operation of Qalqilya hospital, run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine refugees, is over and all hospital departments recently closed will reopen, UNRWA and Palestinian officials announced on Thursday, WAFA reported.
Scott Anderson, director of UNRWA operations in the West Bank, met with the governor of Qalqilya Rafe Rawajbeh and other local official to tell them that the hospital departments that were shut down will now reopen and resume full services.
Rawajbeh also announced an end to the crisis and said that committee will be formed to improve services.
UNRWA recently shut down most of the hospital wards following the death of a child who was getting treatment there.

The closure was strongly protested by the local community, mainly the refugee population who get free medical services at the hospital. (T/RS5/RS1)
