Two Palestinians Killed, Dozens Injured in Clashes with Israeli Forces

Young Palestinians participate in the demonstration.

Gaza, MINA – Two young Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in clashes with Israeli occupying forces following weekly Friday prayers on the eastern frontier line of the Gaza Strip.

Zakaria Al-Kafarna, 24, was shot dead in confrontations with Israeli occupying forces in northeast of the Gaza Strip, while Mohammad Al-Mallahi was killed in north of the strip, KUNA reported, citing Palestinian medics in a press release.

At least 45 Palestinians were also injured in clashes with the Israeli army in the enclave, they said, adding that those wounded were taken to nearby hospitals.

Palestinians have been staging protests and rallies in the Gaza Strip and West Bank since US President Donald Trump announced a controversial decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Trump’s move has sparked outcry at Arab, Islamic and international levels, with many Arab and Muslim capitals having been witnessing demonstrations in protest of the recent US decision. T/RS5/RS1)
