Wasgington, MINA – U.S. President Donald Trump has affirmed that his administration will provide “full support” to the New York City Police Department (NYPD) including “through a joint investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI),” on the “cowardly,” and “terrorist” attack that killed eight people and wounded dozens others.
KUNA reported, citing Trump in a statement that he will “continue to follow developments closely,” and offered thanks “to the first responders who stopped the suspect and rendered immediate aid to the victims of this cowardly attack.”
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of today’s terrorist attack in New York City and their families,” he remarked, in his statement shortly after Tuesday’s attack.
Furthermore, Trump tweeted following reports of the attack “in NYC, looks like another attack by a very sick and deranged person .. Not in the U.S.A.”

He added in another tweet “we must not allow (IS) to return, or enter, our country after defeating them in the Middle East and elsewhere. Enough!”
He noted that he “just ordered Homeland Security to step up our already Extreme Vetting Program. Being politically correct is fine, but not for this!”
Meanwhile, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement “we have recently seen attacks like this one throughout the world.”
“DHS and its law enforcement partners remain vigilant and committed to safeguarding the American people,” it affirmed. (T/RS5/RS!)
