Jenin, 7 Rabi’ul Awwal 1438/7 December 2016 (MINA) – A solidarity event was held Tuesday afternoon in Jaba’ town, south of Jenin, in support of the hunger striker Ammar Hamour.
Family sources warned that Hamour is being subjected to growing pressures by the IPS aiming to break his hunger strike declared 17 days ago, the Palestinian Information Center reported.
For his part, Jaba’s mayor Bassem Jarrar affirmed that solidarity events would continue in the town till Hamour’s release.
He called for intensifying popular support for Palestinian prisoners, hailing the strong determination of the hunger-striking Hamour.
A native of Jaba’ town, in Jenin, prisoner Hamour was arrested in February 16, 2016 and sentenced twice to six-month administrative prison-terms.
He is currently held in a two-square-meter cell and has been stripped of all his personal belongings.(T/P008/R07)
