Saudi Ambassador Explains The Reason for Saudi King to Visit Bali
Jakarta, 30 Jumadil Awwal 1438/28 February 2017 (MINA) – Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud is scheduled to be holidaying in Bali on 4 to March 9, 2017 after the king is completing a series of official activities in Jakarta.
Saudi Ambassador to Indonesia Osama bin Mohammed Abdullah Al-Shuaibi mentioned some underlying reasons for King Salman to visit the resort island.
In a press conference at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Jakarta, Tuesday (28/2), Osama explained that the world renowned destination with a variety of beautiful sceneries has certainly become the main attraction for the King.
King Salman and his entourage consisting of 1,500 delegates, 25 princes and 10 ministers will spend their time in the Island of Gods until 9 March 2017, he added.
Saudi Arabia has ensured that the arrival of so many people would not disrupt the activities around where they stay.
“It will not shut down a particular location, we will follow local security arrangements and is committed not to interfere with the activities of people around,” he said.
In addition, King Salman will not be open to the media, because he wants to focus the holiday activities only on himself and his closest people.
Saudi Arabia has also booked four hotels in the International Tourism Development Center (ITDC) of the Nusa Dua tourist area. The four hotels are the Saint Regis, the Hilton, the Ritz Carlton, and the Laguna.
Indonesia as a haven for foreign tourists with vast territory and thousands of islands with exotic panorama, has myriads of potential tourism wealth in it, one of them is Bali.
According to the data received by MINA, there were almost 50,000 tourists from the Middle East who came on holiday to the island of Bali throughout the year 2016 .
Meanwhile, in January 2017, there have been about 4,300 Middle Eastern tourists coming to the island of Bali. If averaged, then there is an increase of about 3 percent of the number of Middle Eastern tourists coming to Bali.
After the vacation in Bali, several delegates plan to visit some regions in the country such as Padang, Bangka Belitung, Medan and Lombok to explore business opportunities. (L/R04/RS05)
