Gaza, MINA – The renovation of the Indonesia Hospital in North Gaza is progressing, with several repair projects and equipment procurement efforts currently underway.

The Chairman of the MER-C Presidium, Dr. Hadiki Habib, stated that the ongoing renovations include the repair of the Gas Central Station, as well as the refurbishment of the hospital’s entrance, canopy, and the front area of the Emergency Department (IGD). Additionally, repairs are being carried out on the back entrance, which was previously damaged in an incident involving an Israeli tank.

Regarding equipment and maintenance, MER-C is working to provide construction tools for the hospital’s repair team. An assessment has been conducted, and efforts to source the necessary materials from the market are ongoing.

Furthermore, Dr. Hadiki mentioned that the repair of the Air Handling Unit (AHU) for the operating rooms is still awaiting evaluation before further restoration can proceed.

“To support the hospital’s energy supply, the team is also in the early stages of procuring a new generator. Contact has been made with suppliers, but since the equipment must be sourced from outside Gaza, the team is still working to confirm pricing and access for delivery,” said Dr. Hadiki, who is currently in the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the second phase of the solar panel project is still under price evaluation in the local market.

“Currently, 20 new solar panels are available; however, according to the technical team, the price being offered remains too high. Therefore, this project has been temporarily postponed while we explore the best possible solution,” he added. []
