QATAR TOURISM AUTHORITY OPENS OFFICE IN MILAN

Doha 26 Rabi’ul Awwal 1437/7 January 2015 (MINA) – Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) on Monday announced the opening of a representative office in Milan in order to reach tourists and tourism companies in Italy, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.

The Milan’s office aims to strengthen the presence of the QTA and its capabilities on the ground, and then make room for the support and development of awareness and knowledge of Qatar as a prestigious tourist destination through proactive marketing of tourism companies, travel agencies, hospitality partners and media.

Qatar’s tourist promotion campaign in Italy will cover a wide range of promotional initiatives, including workshops and travel agents training on the destination through the QTA’s “Tawash” online program, and through partnerships with tourism companies, acquaintance trips, media campaigns and a variety of innovative activities to promote Qatar’s position as a tourist destination among Italians.

QTA’s Executive Director of Marketing and Promotions Rashed Al Qurese said, the number of Italian visitors to Qatar increased by 16 percent, to more than 34,000 in 2015, expressing confidence that this market has larger potential for growth, International Islamic News Agency (IINA) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

He said that Qatar has succeeded in recent years to take advantage of its reputation as a travel destination by diversifying its approach in attracting increasing numbers of those who want leisure tourism.

Al Qurese added that QTA will focus on highlighting the message that Qatar has the highest quality accommodation and the finest entertainment facilities in a clean and safe environment, in addition to the Qatari traditional hospitality.
