Qatar Charity Visits Charity Projects in Bangladesh

Doha,  15 Jumadil Akhir 1437/25 March 2016 (MINA) – Qatar Charity took a delegation of activists running its social networking site on a trip to Bangladesh to provide them with first-hand information about projects financed by QC.

The trip aimed to provide ground information to the activists so that they could post it on social networking site to promote charity work.

The delegation included Ahmed Abdullah, Asmaa Al Hammadi, Eman Al Ka’bi, Abdullah Al Anzi, and QC officials Ahmed Saleh Al Ali, Director, Information Department, Ibrahim Fityan, Director, Support and Media Coordinator, and Ahmed Al Burdini, Director, Social Network.

The delegation visited QC’s projects like orphan houses, schools, training centres and those executed for developments. The Peninsula News quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MI,NA) as reporting.

It also visited an under-construction multi-service complex in Dhaka. The four-storey complex will have a mosque and a house for about 400 orphan children.

The delegation visited a multi-service centre for girls, established by philanthropists of Qatar through QC.

It includes a house, water well, mosque, school and medical centre. “We thank the philanthropists for their donations. The aid and projects QC provides are the fruit of their donations. We hope all Qatari youth contribute and get involved with QC’s charity programmes so as to support humanitarian work,” said Al Ali.

QC has inaugurated a social network in cooperation and partnership with a group of people and activists from Qatari society. It signed cooperation agreements with them to help serve the community through online promotion of projects to be able to use their talent in serving humanitarian work in a better way.

The network aims to keep up with the advancements in information and technology.

QC’s interest in recent technology indicates how advanced it is. It does not adhere to conventional means of communication and media; rather, it uses modern media to promote charity work, he added.

QC’s followers on its social networks are increasing rapidly which reflects how interactive the Qatari society is with QC’s programmes, projects, activities and campaigns in and outside Qatar.

The number of QC’s followers on Twitter is now over 100,000. QC has uploaded more than 200 videos on its channel on YouTube. The videos include reports, relief campaigns, promotions, success stories and others. The channel has reached more than 800,000 reviews.  (T/Imt/R07)
