President Jokowi arrives in Singapire for ASEAN Summit

President Joko Widodo arrives at Hotel Conrad, Singapore, to attend 33rd ASEAN Summit on Tuesday October 13.

 

 

Singapore, – MINA — President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived in Singapore on Tuesday afternoon for the 33rd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, Antara News reported,

President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana arrived at the Changi International Airport at 12:30 p.m. local time.

The president and his entourage departed from the Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase in East Jakarta at 10:30 a.m. West Indonesia Standard Time aboard Presidential Aircraft Indonesia-1. Singapore local time is an hour ahead of Jakarta.

Upon arrival at the airport, the Indonesian leader was greeted by Singapore`s Senior Minister for Defense and Foreign Affairs M. Maliki Bin Osman and Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Ngurah Swajaya and his wife.

Meanwhile, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita, Industry Minister Airlangga Hartarto, and Chief of the National Police General Tito Karnavian greeted the president at Conrad Hotel.

The president will attend the opening ceremony of the 33rd ASEAN Summit on Tuesday evening and later join the ASEAN Summit gala dinner along with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Long.

At the 33rd ASEAN Summit, Indonesia will highlight several issues related to the Indo-Pacific concept and preparations for the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

President Jokowi is also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with several heads of state and government on the sidelines of the summit. . (T/RS5/RS1)
