President Abbas: Israeli Settlers’ Killing of Mother of Eight a Crime That Cannot Go Unpunished

Ramallah, MINA — President Mahmoud Abbas slammed the killing of a Palestinian mother of eight by Israeli settlers late Friday night “a heinous crime that cannot go unpunished.”

Aisha Muhammad Rabi, a mother of eight from the town of Bidya in the north of the West Bank, was killed late Friday night when Israeli settlers threw rocks at the car she was in with her husband on a northern West Bank road.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned, in the strongest terms, the killing of Rabi, slamming it as a heinous crime under international law, and holding the Israeli government, headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, directly and fully responsible for her death.

“The international community should be ashamed of its silence and complicity, the blood of Rabi, and the tears and pain of her family and children. The international community should defend its remaining credibility, if any, through speeding up international protection for Palestinians and implementing the resolutions of international law, particularly resolution 2334.”

The ministry said it is following up on the crime with the International Criminal Court (ICC) in order to hold the criminals accountable. . (T/RS5/RS1)
