Israeli Closure of Aqsa Mosque Serious Violation, Crime – OIC
Yousef Al-Othaimeen, secretary-general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Jeddah, MINA) – The Israeli closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque, which prevented worshippers from performing prayers there, is a serious violation and crime against the Palestinians and the Muslim world, KUNA reported, citing the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Secretary General Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen Saturday.
Al-Othaimeen said that preventing people from praying at the holy Islamic shrine for the first time since 1969 would have grave consequences on the religious and human rights of the Palestinian people.
The global community must take action against this vile act, which continues decades of Israeli injustice towards the people of Palestine and their holy places.
Yesterday, three Palestinians were killed and three Israeli soldiers were injured during the act leading to the closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque. (T/RS5/RS1)
