Jakarta, 13 Jumadil Akhir 1438/12 March 2017 (MINA) – The Government of Indonesia through its embassy in Damascus announced to opene scholarships registration for the Syrian people or government employees to pursue their study in 16 universities in Indonesia.
Through a flyer received by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), the scholarship is intended for undergraduate and master program for Syrian citizens who meet an easy requirements.
The requirements needed such as a maximum of 35 years old, high school certificate for undergraduate degree program and certificate of undergraduate for master program, English language skills TOEFL minimum of 500, and recomendation letter from the Embassy in Damascus.
The scholarship is intended not only for Syrian, but as well as other developing countries.

The program was launched since 2006 by the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia. Since its establishment, the program has provided scholarships to at least 896 students from 64 countries.
The Indonesian government realizes that higher education could compose a more constructive role in helping such a country to achieve a long-term socio-economic goal as it has a clear and practical impact on society, the statement wrote.
