INDONESIA GOVERNMENT PREPARES 10 LEADING YOUTH PROGRAMS IN 2016
Jakarta, 23 Rabi’ul Awwal 1437/3 January 2016 (MINA) – The Indonesia government, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, has prepared 10 flagship programs to help the youth in qualitative improvement and carry out all programs planned for 2016.
“We will accord priority to the youth in the programs formulated for 2016 in order to strengthen the local base, develop and improve the youth so that they feel the presence of the government,” said Youth and Sports Affairs Imam Nahrawi in a written statement, Antara News quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
The ten flagship programs cover Anti-Drug Youth, Youth Volunteers, Proper City Youth, Farmers Youth, Maritime Youth, Pioneers Youth, the Creative Youth, Village Driving Force Graduates, Young Leaders and Young Entrepreneurs.
“The basic concept behind these programs is to implement President Joko Widodos vision and mission. Changing the mindset of the youth in a revolutionary manner remains the main idea behind the ministrys youth program,” he added.
Nahrawi, popularly nicknamed Cak Imam, asserted that the flagship programs for the youth in 2016 were inspired by the fact that the basic problems of the youth in Indonesia have been mapped out.
In order to deal with the problem of drugs among the youth, the youth program is preparing to usher in an anti-drug mindset revolution.
In one year, the anti-drug youth program will be carried out in 1,500 villages in Indonesia. The same is true of the youth volunteer program.
The disaster-prone areas and regions prone to social evils will be the focus of these programs.
“Volunteer Youth programs will be implemented in 10 disaster-prone regions and in five areas prone to social evils,” he said.
Also, the government will implement a program called the young entrepreneur movement to help the entrepreneurs. As part of this program, the government will be targeting 500 youth to make them productive.
Also, the government has prepared entrepreneurship centers in the regions.
“To support youth entrepreneurship, we have prepared the Youth Entrepreneurship Capital Institution or LPKP,” said the politician from the National Awakening Party.
With its ten excellent programs, the government believes that in 2016, young Indonesians will feel the impact of the efforts of the government in improving the quality of human resources. (T/P010/R04)
