EU To Stop Funding The PA’s Employees In Gaza

Al-Quds, 6 Jumadil Awwal 1438/4 Februari 2017 (MINA) – The Information and Communication official of the European Commission in Occupied Jerusalem Shadi Othman revealed that the European Union (EU) adopted a new financial policy for 2017 that stops funding the Palestinian Authority’s employees in the Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reported.

Chinese News Agency (Xinhua) quoted Othman as saying that 20 million Euros of the EU aid for Gaza which is estimated at 30 million euros will be allocated to the cash aid program for poor families.

The remaining 10 million euros will be allocated to economic development and infrastructure projects in order to create job opportunities.

The number of the PA’s employees are estimated at 185,000 including 42,000 in Gaza Strip, according to the syndicate of government workers in the public services.(T/R04/RE1)
