Air Acrobatic and Skydive Enliven Asian Games Torch Relay in Palembang

Palembang, MINA – Air acrobatic action by a famous acrobatic pilot of Indonesian Air Forces (TNI AU) Marshal Eris Heriyanto and 52 paratroopers from the Indonesian Air Force’s Special Forces in the Jakabaring Sriwijaya Gelora Stadium (GSJ) to mark the start of 2018 Asian Games Torch Relay in Palembang South Sumatra (South Sumatra), Saturday morning (4/8).

The stunning series of acrobatic maneuvers was conducted by Eris Heriyanto who also served as Secretary General of the Organizing Committee for the 2018 Asian Games (INASGOC) using aerodynamic combat training aircraft.

TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, National Police Chief Tito Karnavian, South Sumatra Governor Alex Noerdin, INASGOC Chair Erick Thohir, officials, invited guests, and the people present at the GSJ Stadium were stunned by the acrobatic actions of Eris’s aircraft.

After that, it was continued by the Transfers of the Torch and Protocol Flag by 52 TNI AU parachutists. TNI AU fighters inflame and carry 45-nation flags and officials, and boxes containing eternal fire.

The torch fire in the framework of the TNI AU parachutist for First Marshal Eko Dono, who is the Head of the Fire Flight AGTR Torch from New Delhi, India, was then given to the TNI Commander who carried the torch with the Governor of South Sumatra.

At the same time, the flags of all Asian Games participants were handed over to the South Sumatra Paskibraka and raised at GSJ.

The 2018 Asian Games Torch Relay has been held by the most Indonesian provinces which is the last in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, Pekanbaru, Jambi and today arrive in South Sumatra.

The eternal fire of Asia Games has reached the distance of India-Indonesia along 18,000 km by passing 1 city in India, 18 provinces, 63 cities in Indonesia which was held from 15 July to 18 August.

The Torch relay activities is a symbol of friendship and the spirit of the 2018 Asian Games on the Indonesian counties.(LT/R04/P2)
