“We will work closely with France to ensure that the planned conference will lay down the mechanisms for activation of the relevant UN Security Council  (UNSC) and General Assembly resolutions,” the PLO Executive Committee said in a press release on Tuesday tonight.

The statement, carried by WAFA news agency, was issued on the sidelines of a PLO Executive Committee meeting in Ramallah chaired by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah.

“We hope the planned conference will be empowered enough to lay out a specific timeframe for the establishment of the state of Palestine within the pre-June 4, 1967, borderlines, as per the provisions of the international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative,” the statement said.

The executive committee urged the UN Security Council to review through a positive perspective its stance on the State of Palestine’s request for full UN membership and realization of the two-state vision for solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
