Jakarta Governor Ensures Paramedical Personnels During Demonstration in Accordance with SOP

Jakarta, MINA – Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan ensured that personnel on duty in the field had carried out their duties and functions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) when escorting the demonstration, in the Senayan and Pejompongan area of ​​Central Jakarta on September 23-25 2019.

For three days, the Jakarta Provincial Government assigned a medical team along with an ambulance under the coordination of the Jakarta Provincial Health Office, the Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency, and the Jakarta Provincial Satpol PP.

Regarding Anies Baswedan’s ambulance explaining, the Jakarta Provincial Health Office has deployed 40 ambulances since Tuesday (24/9) from a number of hospitals as a form of preparedness to provide health services to demonstration participants who need according to instructions from the Indonesian Ministry of Health.

“The medical officer is carrying a humanitarian mission. It must be noted, they work according to SOP. Anyone who needs medical assistance, they will provide assistance, both demonstrators and security forces,” Anies said.

He added, as many as 4 ambulances owned by PMI and 1 ambulance owned by the Jakarta Provincial Government were still in the Metro Jaya Regional Police for further examination.

“We are waiting for the process. We believe that these officers carry out their duties in accordance with existing SOPs. We don’t have to rush to conclude anything. When it is on the field, many events occur, and communication cannot run smoothly on the field, “he added.

Responding to the demonstration that led to chaos, Anies, conveyed that he had given an appeal to the school and the Jakarta Provincial Education Office to ensure and record the presence of their students so that their presence could still be detected.

Anies also appealed to all parents to monitor their children after school hours ended.

“Regarding students, data collection is currently being carried out. The principal is responsible for making sure his students are safe, enter school, and follow lessons well. I also urge parents to supervise and monitor children so that all Jakarta children are detected where their position is, “he said in a press conference held at the Jakarta City Hall, on Thursday (9/26).
