Paris, MINA – French President Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday that he will be visiting the Middle East shortly in a bid to support a two-state solution that would bring peace to the region, KUNA reported.

Speaking about France’s foreign policy, Macron told a bevy of diplomats that France and the UN will remain steadfast in efforts to establish a two-state solution and support peace in the Middle East.

He highlighted that the fight against terrorism should be the focal point of French foreign policy and a top priority.

The French President revealed that Paris is due to host a conference over terror financing in 2018, in addition to a global summit in December that will examine how far progress has come on the Paris climate change accord.

On the crisis in Syria, he said that a contact group dealing with the conflict will hold a meeting at the UN next month. (T/RS5/RS1)
