Turkish Agency to Deliver 250.000 Food Boxes in Ramadan
Ankara, MINA – A Turkish charity will distribute a total of 250,000 food packages during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan both in the country and abroad.
As many as 91 teams of the Istanbul-based Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) will operate in 120 countries and regions including Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Sudan, the blockaded Gaza Strip, Arakan and East Turkestan, Bangladesh and Iraq during the Ramadan, said a statement issued by the charity.
According to Anadolu Agency, IHH will also provide fast-breaking meals, or iftar, to hundreds of thousands of people, the statement said.
The charity will also distribute clothes to 67,920 orphans and children in 43 countries on the Eid al-Fitr,” the holiday at the holy month’s conclusion.
A team of IHH offered Ramadan’s first food packages in Yemen and planned to give fast-breaking meals to 11,176 people in the country.
Additionally, another team has headed to Afghanistan to distribute 8,382 food packages to people in need.(T/R04/P2)
