Ramallah, MINA – Ahmad Majdalani, Member of Executive Committee Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) and Minister of Social Development, expressed surprise, because of the UN’s decision did not include Israel in the list of countries that have committed gross violations of children or also called the “List of Shame”.

“UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres seems to have heard nothing of the violations committed by the Israeli occupation government against Palestinian children on a daily basis,” Ahmad said, as quoted by Wafa on Monday, August 5.

He also wondered how Israel was excluded from the report at a time it was complicit in the murder and imprisonment of Palestinian children.

“The UN Security Council meeting to discuss the problem of children in situations of armed conflict will remain a black spot in the history of the agency, which through such a resolution kills the dreams of Palestinian children,” Ahmad added.

“What does it take to put Israel on the” List of Shame”? Is it necessary to commit more violations, killings and abuse against children in Palestine? “He wondered.

Ahmad called Guterres to bear in mind that what is happening in Palestine is the result of the military occupation, and that Israeli practices, mainly the suffocating siege imposed on the Gaza Strip, amount to collective punishment. (T/Sj/P2)
