Palestinian Embassy Holds National Campign for Recovery of Martyrs
Jakarta, MINA – Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta held National Campign to restore the remains of martyrs of Palestine in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 4.
The National Campign was attended by representatives of Indonesian Ministry of Affair, Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah), Aqsa Working Group (AWG), Indonesian International Amnesty, Redcross organization, Medical Emergency Commitee-Rescue (MER-C) dan many more.
Deputy Head of Mission/counselor, The Embassy of the State of Palestine, H.E Taher Ibrahim Hammad said this national campaign decided to escalate the protest steps in all Palestinian cities to put pressure on the Israeli government and International Organizations including the redcross, to urgently intervene to release the bodies of martyrs.
“As is known to all Israeli authorities have been holding more than 260 bodies of Palestinian martyrs since 1967, including 51 has been holding in the refrigerators since October 2015,” said Hamad.
In the light of data indicating that Israel is using the bodies of martyrs to steal members of them in flagrant violation of all laws and human customs.
“From this forum, we want to send a message to the world that the bodies of the martyrs are a sacred issue no less important than the issues of the final solution,” Hamad continued.
The occupation authorities have been pursuing a policy of detaining the bodies of Palestinian martyrs for many years. In an atempt to use this file as a pressure card on the Palestinian leadership.
“I would like to inform you that the occupation authorities are holding the bodies of Palestinian martyrs in the graves of the number, that tombs of numbers are closed military cemeteries in which the Israel occupation are holding the remains of Palestinian martyrs in which the tombstones are marked with plates,” he said.
This violation by the occupation authorities in dealing with the remains of Palestinian martyrs requires all of us to a unit in order to release the bodies of martyrs and bury them according to human custom in accordance with their dignity. (L/Sj/P2)
