Ministry To Intensify Promoting Indonesian Medical Equipment Products

Jakarta, 15 Rabiul Akhir 1437/25 January 2016 (MINA) – The Indonesian Ministry of Commerce through the Directorate General of National Export Development to intensify the promotion of Indonesian medical equipment products for the potential market in Middle East countries.

“We continue to increase Indonesian export through the promotion, especially in the slow of global economy,” said the Director General of National Export Development (PEN) Nus Nuzulia Ishak, Monday (25/1), Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) reported, quoting Antara News.

The Ministry is eyeing potential market of medical equipment in the Gulf and Middle East regions. Indonesia is going to participate in the Arab Health Exhibition on January 25-28, 2016 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Nuzulia said, Indonesian export opportunities to the world of medical equipment is quite large and Indonesia’s participation in the event is one of the main gate to export its products in the Middle East and surrounding countries.

Indonesia’s export trend of medical equipment to the world over the last five years (2010-2014) was recorded 6.42 percent of the total export $ 273.8 million in 2014.

Arab Health exhibition is the largest healthcare product exhibition in Africa and Middle East regions, visited by wholesellers of various countries.

Last year, Arab Health exhibition was attended by 3,746 exhibitors from 70 countries in the area of 60 thousand square meters.

In 2016, the number of participants who will participate is estimated more than 4,000 exhibitors, coming from 37 countries and is expected to be visited by more than 130 thousand health professionals from 163 countries. (TL/P008/R03)
