MER-C Will Open Field Hospital in West Lombok
Jakarta, MINA – Medical and humanitarian institution Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) will open a Field Hospital in the area around Awet Muda Hospital in West Lombok.
Chairman of the MER-C Presidium Henry Hidayatullah told MINA, in Jakarta, Saturday (11/8).
“At first we were in Tanjung Hospital, but then there was another big earthquake, so now the MER-C Team is in Awet Muda Hospital, about 30 minutes drive from Mataram, and will soon build a Field Hospital around the Awet Muda Hospital , he said..
According to the plan, the tent for the Field Hospital will be sent from Jakarta on Monday (13/8), and the field hospital will likely be built on Wednesday (15/8), he said.
In addition, Henry said, “Today we are sending the 5th team of five members, consisting of specialists, general practitioners, nurses and logistics staff. This complements the teams that are already there, the first team by Mer-C Mataram, then the next wave of teams from Jakarta, Medan and Yogyakarta. ”
“The 5th team will bring additional medicines needed for earthquake victims,” he explained.
Up to now, there are 28 members of the MER-C team who have been deployed to locations affected by the disaster in NTB. “The team is in charge of the mobile clinic and some are in the hospital,” Henry said. (LT /R04/RS5)
