LONDON PROTESTERS RALLY AGAINST ISRAEL WAR ON GAZA
Landon, 6 Syawal 1435/2 Juli 2014 (MINA) –Hundreds of protestors have gathered outside the Israeli embassy in London to show their outrage at Israeli occupation regime attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip, Press TV reports.
Holding banners and Palestinian flags on Friday, the protesters called for an end to the Israeli occupation regime massacre of the people in Gaza, Press TV quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting, Saturday.
“We have been out here week in, week out for the last month. People tend to say to us, you know, protest doesn’t make a difference. We are here to say that protest does make a difference,” a protester told the Press TV correspondent.
“We are seeing that British politicians are coming out. I’m not talking about politicians who are constantly here with us, in solidarity with us. I’m talking about politicians like (British Prime Minister) David Cameron himself. Now, he is changing his tone slightly. This is because he knows that the world is watching him.”
The protester also added that the politicians “know that the elections are coming up and they know that we are the people that are going to vote.”
The London protest is just one of the many anti-Israeli occupation regime rallies held recently around the globe, in which people have denounced the deadly Israeli aggression against Gazans.
Israeli occupation regime warplanes have been pounding numerous sites in the Gaza Strip since July 8, demolishing houses and burying families under the rubble. Israeli forces also began a ground offensive against the impoverished Palestinian land on July 17.
The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has been launching retaliatory attacks against Israel.
While Tel Aviv confirms more than 60 Israelis have been killed in the war, Hamas sources put the number at over 145.
So far, more than 1,600 people have been killed and nearly 9,000 others injured by the Israeli occupation regime ’s offensive against the coastal sliver despite pressure from the international community. (T/P012/E01)
