Jokowi- Antonio Guterres Discuss Rakhine and Palestine Issue
Bangkok, MINA – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) held a meeting with Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday afternoon, November 2 on the sidelines of 35th ASEAN Summit.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said during the meeting, the President exchanged ideas with the UN Secretary-General on Rakhine State and Palestine issues.
Retno stressed Indonesia was actively willing and ready to contribute to solving these two difficult problems.
Meanwhile, Antonio Guterres specifically gave his appreciation to the President who had tried so much to contribute to the resolution of the Rakhine state issue.
“Both Palestine and Rakhine, according to the Secretary-General, there has not been significant progress but we must not despair, we must continue to try because both of them ultimately concern humanity issues,” said the Foreign Minister. (T/Sj/P2)
