JAMA’AH MUSLIMIN (HIZBULLAH) DECIDES JUNE 18 FIRST DAY OF RAMADAN

Bogor, 30 Sha’ban 1436/17 Juni 2015 (MINA) – Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) decided the first day of Ramadan 1436 falls on Thursday, June 18 2015.

It based on the observation reports “rukyat” from various countries which did not see the new moon.

“The team has been monitoring rukyat in various countries Including a report from East Kalimantan, North Jakarta, Cilacap, and some countries such as Saudi Arabia and Gaza, Palestine, all of them reported that they did not see the new moon. So, according to the command of the Prophet in the hadith, Sha’ban is completed (30 days) and Ramadan falls on Sunday, ” said the chairman of Hisab and Ru’yat Council (DHR), Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah), M. As’adi Al-Ma’ruf in Cileungsi, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday Morning (17/6).

Ru’yat team of Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) was waiting for a monitoring report  of seeing the new moon from other Muslim countries, especially ru’yatul Hilal in Saudi Arabia and the Gaza Strip, Palestine.

“Indonesia has to wait until midnight to receive the report from middle east countries. Muslim everywhere should receive other places if they had seen the new moon.

Imaamul Muslimin, Yakhsyallah Mansur, stated at Hisab if anyone has already seen the new moon, then we will follow them, but actually the new moon did not see in various countries. So, Sha’ban is completed (30 days) and Ramadan falls on Thursday, June 18.

The Chairman of Hisab and Ru’yat Council Jama’ah Muslimin (Hizbullah) KH Abu Muchtar Marsai stated based on Ibn Syathir Addimasyqi method, it indicates that Thursday, June 18th, 2015 is the beginning of Ramadan 1436.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Religious Affairs also decided first Ramadan 1436 falls on a Thursday (18/6).(L/P008/R03)
