Jerusalem, MINA – Today, Friday, the occupation police tightened their “security” measures in the city of Jerusalem, and set up military barricades prior to the start of the funeral procession for the martyr journalist Sherine Abu Aqleh.

Since the morning hours, the occupation police deployed in various areas of Jerusalem, and set up their barriers, prior to the funeral of the martyred Jerusalemite Abu Aqila, MINA’s Contributor in Gaza reports.

They indicated that the occupation police were heavily present in the vicinity of the Farnsawy Hospital in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, where Abu Aqila’s body is located, and imposed restrictions on the Palestinians, as well as imposing financial fines on some Palestinian vehicles.

On the other hand, the occupation police prevented the people from hanging Abu Aqila’s pictures in the old city, near the church where the funeral will be held.

It is noteworthy that the occupation police imposed conditions on the funeral of the martyr journalist Abu Aqila, in her hometown in Jerusalem, and demanded her family not to raise the Palestinian flags and not to chant any national or anti-occupation chants during the funeral.

The occupation army had assassinated the Palestinian journalist Shireen Abu Aqila during her coverage of the events in Jenin on May 11, 2022, wounding her with live bullets in the head, and her injuries were critical.  (LKG/RE1)
