Al-Quds, 2 Muharram 1438/3 October 2016 (MINA) – Israeli occupation forces detained 2,355 Palestinians in Jerusalem since 1 October 2015, according to statistics published by the Committee of Prisoners’ Families.
Just over a third of all those arrested – 866 – were children, including 79 under 12-years-old, Middle East Monitor (MEMO) reported.
According to the committee, the areas with the highest numbers of arrests were: Isawiya, the Old City, Silwan, at-Tur and Shuafat refugee camp.
Around half of all those arrested – 1,146 – were taken during house raids.

The committee also noted that 42 Jerusalemites were issued with administrative detention orders of between three and six months, while others were subjected to house arrests.
Dozens of Palestinians were detained on charges of incitement on social media.(T/P008/R07)
