Beijing, 17  Muharram 1436/10 November 2014 (MINA) – During a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe here on Monday, Indonesian President Joko Widodo highlighted his countrys need for greater investment in the manufacturing industry.

“Relations between Indonesia and Japan are very good, and in the future, it will continue to be stepped up, particularly in the field of investment,” President Jokowi emphasized.

Earlier, during the APEC Summits CEO Forum, President Jokowi remarked that Indonesia is offering broader opportunities to investors for investing in infrastructure development, Antaranews quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting on monday.

In the meantime, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stated that Indonesia was Japans strategic partner, and as maritime nations, the two countries should significantly contribute to maintaining and upholding peace and justice.

Abe noted that Indonesia and Japan have maintained sound bilateral relations by helping each other.

He remarked that by investing in Indonesia, Japan is keen to contribute to its industrial and human resource development.

After an hour-long bilateral meeting with Abe, President Jokowi then held similar meetings with US President Barack Obama, Vietnams President Truong Tan Sang, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, on Sunday, the Indonesian president held bilateral meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and the countrys Prime Minister Li Keqiang.(T/P009/R04)
