Indonesian State Union, Jokowi Invites Community to Unite

Jakarta, MINA – President Joko Widodo delivered State Union at 2019 Indonesian People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) Annual Session, parliament complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Friday, August 16.

In his speech, Jokowi invited community to unite after the ongoing presidential election dynamics. Jokowi’s message was delivered in a proverb.

“Kiambang kiambang which is linked again, after the splint has passed. I am sure, as sure as possible by sticking to the spirit of Indonesian unity that our big houses will not collapse, “he said.

The Annual Session of MPR which is held every August 16, is followed by two other session agendas, namely a joint session of DPR-DPD and DPR session with the President’s agenda to submit 2020 State Budget Bill.

In his speech, Jokowi expressed his appreciation to the high state institutions, MPR, DPR, and DPD who had carried out the legislative function. To Parliament, Jokowi expressed his appreciation for the functioning of budget.

To DPD, Jokowi expressed his appreciation for the rapid response to address challenges facing in the region. The number of problems, such as food challenges, rearrangement of customary, and customary rights, the development of new renewable energy are fought by Indonesian House Representatives (DPD RI).

In addition, Jokowi also expressed his appreciation to a number of high state institutions such as the Supreme Audit Board (BPK), the Supreme Court (MA), and the Constitutional Court (MK).

Jokowi closed the State Union by reminding the community that basis of Indonesian state is Pancasila. With Pancasila, he said, Indonesian people were able to live in harmony without discriminating against their religious backgrounds, ethnic origin, race or class. (TL/Sj/P2)
