INDONESIAN HUMANITARIAN TEAM REACHED DEEPER VILLAGES IN NEPAL
Sindhupalcowk, 23 Rajab 1436/12 May 2015 (MINA) – The international humanitarian agencies, Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) and The Association facer Rimba and Mountaineering (Wanadri) managed to reach the two villages in the mountainous peaks of Ganesh, Keaurani and Lapgaun, Halembu district, in Sindupalcowk region to provide medical treatment.
“The resident are very excited to welcome the arrival of our medical team. In Keaurani village, the numbers of patients reached 170 people, while in Lapgaun reached 120 people,” dr. Ratih Citra Sari told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) recently.
Kaurani village lies in the Sindhupalcowk district, seven hours drive north-west of the capital Kathmandu. While the Lapgaun village can be reached by one hour car trip from Keaurani.
Meanwhile, the two team guided by a native from Keaurani, Ramba Ba, who expressed his people apreciation over the aid. “People here were very happy with the presence of the Indonesian medical team. In fact, one of the villagers slaughtered a goat for welcoming the first night of arrival of the team.”
According to MINA reports on the field, nearly 100 percent of the houses were completely destroyed. Ganesh people who lives in the mountain are now living by making tents made of branches and leaves.
Both teams consist of nine people with general practitioner dr Ratih Citra Sari, a specialist Hadiki Habib, Sp. PD, two nurses, Rita Tambunan and Samaun Islamiyah, rescuer teams, Saleh Soedrajat (team leader), Adriansyah Purwasunu, Rohmat Sopian and Dada Muhammad as well as the media and the documentation team, Widi Kusnadi (MINA).(L/P008/R04)
