INDONESIAN NGO AWG URGES INTL COMMUNITY TO BOYCOTT ISRAEL PRODUCTS
Jakarta, 18 Dzulhijjah 1436/2 October 2015 (MINA) – Chairman of Indonesian NGO Aqsa Working Group (AWG) Agus Sudarmadji called backon international community especially Indonesian people to boycott of Israeli products, amid widespread boycott in many countries.
“We urge the Muslims around the world to take concrete action to save Al-Aqsa mosque, among others, by boycotting Israeli products,” Agus said in a speech at the rally themed “Love Al Aqsa” in Palestinian Embassy, Jakarta, Friday.
AWG along with several organizations such as Indonesian Muslim Forum (FUI), Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) staged a peace rally to show the solidarity amid Israeli attack to Al Aqsa compound nowadays.
Thousands of citizens enthusiastically joined the rally. They showed a slogan “Khilafah is the Solutions of Al-Aqsa’s Liberation”, “Saving Al-Aqsa from Zionist Israel”, and others.
The peaceful rally also held in some Indonesian cities, such as Bandar Lampung, Bandung, Pontianak, Samarinda, Kupang and others.
Agus said, the rally is a series of global campaign “Saving Al-Quds”. The event also be held in several cities in ASEAN countries.
Individual consumers can show their opposition to Israel’s Apartheid policies against the Palestinian people and violations of international law by participating in a consumer boycott of Israeli goods and services. A boycott can also put pressure on companies whose exports are linked to some of the most evident aspects of the Israeli occupation and apartheid.
Since 24 August, Israel occupation authorities have launched a policy of divide Al-Aqsa Mosque both the place and a time for Muslims and Jews, by closing all the gates to the Al-Aqsa every day at 7: 30-11: 30 local time. (L/nia/K08/R03)
