Indonesian Force Hold Joint Activity Mission in Kongo
Tanganyika, MINA – Company D of Combat Operation Base (COB) Manono Company which is the Indonesia National Army (TNI) Task Force of Garuda Contingent (Konga) XXXIX-A Rapidly Deployable Battalion (RDB) Mission de Organization des Nations Unies pour La Stabilization en République Démocratique du Congo (MONUSCO) held an activity Baraza Joint Activity Mission (JAM) in Mukebo Village, Niemba District, Tanganyika Province, Democratic Republic of Congo.
According the statement recieved by MINA on Monday (25/3), this was conveyed by Commander Task Force TNI Konga XXXIX-A MONUSCO RDB, Colonel Inf Dwi Sasongko at the Task Force Headquarters of Soekarno Camp, Indo RDB, Kalemie, Democratic Republic of Congo recently.
Commander Sasongko also said that COB Manono under Company of Commander Major Inf Roni Faturohman carried out the Long Range Mission (LRM) activities by facilitating the meetings between residents in JAM.
“JAM is a joint missionary activity between Monusco RDB Task Force, the UN Staff, Armed Forces of Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) and Police National Congo (PNC) with the aim of carrying out an assessment of particular area,” said Sasongko.
“Baraza is a concept of conflict resolution formed by MONUSCO to reconcile a dispute, especially the problem of ethnic in the territory of Congo,” he added
Furthermore, Baraza’s personnel in Manono region were taken from five villages, including Sange, Kabeke, Sengantchimbu, Mukebo and Mbayo village. Personnel who were appointed as Baraza Committee were carried out through an agreement and tasked with reconciling the conflict.
Commander Sasongko also said that MONUSCO maintained communication with Baraza committee and monitored the progress of Baraza’s training program, planting seed distribution and provision of agricultural equipment
In LRM activities, Commander TNI Konga MONUSCO RDB XXXIX-A delivered Company COB Manono assigning a number of personnel led by First Lieutenant Inf Wahyu Yosa in traveling over 142 km to District Mukebo, Niemba, Tanganyika Province.
Whereas, UN Staff personnel, FARDC and PNC used Heli Mi-8 joined and met in Mukebo Village in order to carry out Baraya’s briefings and meetings in the Sector of Church village. Mukebo Niemba District, Tanganyika Province.
In LRM activity, Baraza JAM was symbolically handed over to representatives of Baraya Committee in the form of suggestions and sports equipment, agricultural, and equipment. (T/Sj/R04)
