Indonesia Wins OCA Award for Success of 2018 Asian Games

Bangkok, MINA – In addition got success with achieving target medals and the holding of the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia won OCA Award from the Asian Olympic Council (OCA).

“The positive impact of implementing the 18th Asian Games has been increasingly emphasizing the prestige of the Asian Games itself as the second largest sporting event in the world after the Olympics,” said OCA President, Sheik Ahmad Al Falah Al Sabah and the Chairman of INASGOCINASG handing over OCA Award to Indonesia at 72nd OCA Executive Board Meeting, Bangkok, Thailand, Saturday.

According to a written statement received by MINA on Sunday, the OCA Award for Indonesia was accepted by the General Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Erick Thohir.

“Representing Indonesia, both state leaders, executive committees, volunteers, as well as all the people of Indonesia, I feel proud of the award given by OCA for the best organizing Asian national sporting party at the 2018 Asian Games,” said Erick Thohir, chairman of the organizing committee 2018 Asian Games (INASGOC).

“This is for Indonesia which has successfully held the Best Asian Games which received appreciation from all over the world,” Erick added in Bangkok, Thailand.

The success of the 2018 Asian Games was not only from the smooth implementation of holding 40 sports, which was the most in the history of the Asia Games so far. Furthermore, the success was also due to extraordinary publications. With the presence of 864 news agencies or media from 44 Asian countries and 12 countries outside Asia, news about the 2018 Asian Games were enjoyed by 4.5 billion readers.
