INDONESIA OFFERS CONDOLENCES ON DEATH OF SAUDI KING ABDULLAH

Jakarta, 3 Rabi’ul Akhir 1436/24 January 2015 (MINA) – Indonesia through its Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed condolences on the death of the King of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, early Friday (23/1) at the age of 90 years.

“Indonesia pray may Allah Almighty give forgiveness and peace to the late King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and give courage and strength to the entire royal family in facing this destiny,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement, Friday.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Saudis and the world are feeling lost with the death of King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.

“The late King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud is known as someone who brings renewal and prosperity for the nation and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the statement added.

Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz  passed away on early Friday due to lung disease, the Royal Court said in a statement early on Friday.

MINA’s reporter in the Mecca reported that the Royal Court has issued the official statement through TV and radio across the country.

Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz became king and Prince Muqrin was declared Crown Prince,  another Royal Court statement said, as quoted by Al Arabiya.

“With great sorrow and grief His Highness Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and all members of the family and the nation mourn the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, who passed away at exactly 1 a.m. this morning,” the Saudi Royal court statement said.

Funeral prayers will be held later in the day following afternoon prayers at Imam Turki Bin Abdullah Grand Mosque in the capital Riyadh, according to the statement.(T/R04/P3)
