India: Four Soldiers Killed in Alleged Pakistani Firing in Kashmir

New Delhi, MINA – Indian defense authorities said on Saturday that four of its soldiers were killed as Pakistani forces allegedly violated ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

Quoting defense sources, the Press Trust of India (PTI) said that the Pakistani forces targeted an Indian army patrol in Keri sector of Rajouri district killing a major and three soldiers.

An army statement said that the Indian forces retaliated the unprovoked firing strongly and effectively.

Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Nirmal Singh condemned the alleged ceasefire violation and hailed the sacrifices of slain soldiers.

“Pakistan is indulging in such cowardly actions and is being given a befitting response, but it does not desist from such cowardly acts,” Singh was quoted by local media as saying.
