Hundreds of Indonesian Hafeezh Get Scholarship In Turkey

Jakarta, 8 Shawwal 1437/2 August 2016 (MINA) – In collaboration with Indonesian government, United Islamic Cultural Centre of Indonesia-Turkey (UICCI) will fly at least 173 Hafeezh (Memorizers of Al-Quran) to Turkey for pursuing their bachelor.

The number consist 143 male students, while 30 other are girl students. The students who are ranging in age 17-19 memorized the holy book within a year, some of them have succeeded in only 5 months.

The graduation ceremony for their success held in the Ministry of Religious Affairs office in Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Minister of Religious Affairs Lukman Hakim Saifuddin who attended the event expressed his appreciation for the hafeezh generation as well as hoping for their success in following up their education in Turkey.

He also hopes that the hafeezh will someday become a moderat scholars who spreads Islamic true teachings that promotes peace and harmony.

The students will depart in three different flights using Turkish airlines. The first batch flied the night after graduation, while the two other flights to be held the day after graduation.

This year will mark the 9th collaboration between UICCI and Indonesian government in providing the scholarship for Indonesian students.

Saifuddin previously mentioned that UICCI is not education institution prohibitted by Turkish government. (L/R04)
