Gaza, MINA – Palestinian Hamas movement voiced relief over the atmosphere of the first round of talks with Fatah which was held in Cairo, Egypt, Tuesday to discuss a host of important issues.
Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyyah was quoted by KUNA as saying in a press statement that he was content over the atmosphere of the talks.
He made the statement after a phone call with head of Hamas delegation in Cairo, who briefed him on the Egyptian-brokered talks.
Haniyyah asserted need of ending the inter-Palestinian division to achieve conciliation, partnership and democracy.

News reports in Gaza said Hamas and Fatah agreed to continue the talks tomorrow Wednesday with the same “constructive spirit.” (T/RS5/RS1)
