Jakarta, 14 Rabiul Akhir 1436/4 Fabruary 2015 (MINA) – Indonesia Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) published the number of foreign tourist arrivals in the period of January to December 2014 reaching 9.44 million, increased 7.19 percent compared to 8.32 million in 2013.
The Head of BPS, Suryamin, Monday, said the increase of foreign tourists, mostly in the main entrance, with the highest percentage occurred in Lombok International Airport (BIL), West Nusa Tenggara, which reached 73.06 percent.
At Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali, it increased 15.11 percent, followed by the Minangkabau Airport, West Sumatra at 13.73 percent, Antaranews quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
“While the lowest arrival was in Soekarno-Hatta Airport, by 0.26 percent,” said Suryamin.

In December 2014, the number of visits reached 915.3 thousand visits, increased 6.35 percent compared to the number of tourist arrivals in December 2013, which totaled 860.7 thousand visits.
“Similarly, when it compared with November 2014, the number of foreign tourists visiting in December 2014 increased by 19.74 percent,” said Suryamin.
In the period, the number of tourist arrivals through Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali rose 16.44 percent compared to December 2013, from 293 thousand visits became 341.1 thousand visits.
As for the Hotel occupancy rate (TPK) in 27 provinces in December 2014 reached 50.13 percent, down 5.60 points if compared with TPK in December 2013 which stood at 55.73 percent.

The average length of foreign tourists stay in star hotel during December 2014 stood at 1.91 days, as same as in December 2013.(T/R03/P3)
