Egypt’s FM Briefs Abbas on Talks with Israel’s PM

Ramallah, 07 Syawal 1437/12 July 2016 (MINA) – Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri on Monday briefed Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on his talks with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the previous day.

Abbas received a phone call from Shukri who reiterated that Egypt would carry on with efforts to push Israel to adopt positive stances toward the Mideast peace process, especially on the legitimate frameworks, the 1967 borders, the previously signed agreements and halting settlement, according to the Palestinian News Agency (WAFA).

Shukri and Abbas agreed to continue Egyptian-Palestinian coordination over the coming period.

On Sunday, Shukri told a press conference that his visit was part of the view expressed by President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi to realize a comprehensive and just peace, ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
